Summer Skincare Routine 2026
Morning & Evening Routine for Clear Skin
Beauty
Summer skincare requires a more considered approach.
The first thing to keep in mind is your environment—heat, humidity, and sun exposure all change how your skin behaves, and your routine should reflect that. While in winter we tend to use richer creams, in summer they can feel too heavy, too much, or simply ineffective.

With rising temperatures, your skin produces more oil, you sweat more, and you’re constantly exposed to the sun and pollution. The result? Clogged pores, breakouts, uneven tanning, and a loss of that natural glow.

In this post, I’ll walk you through my morning and evening skincare dos and don’ts, as well as the products I’ve personally tested and incorporated into my routine.
Over the years, my morning routine has become more and more minimalist—and I’ve seen nothing but benefits from it.
In the morning, I genuinely believe that less is more. The more you layer, the higher the chance of irritation, heaviness, or products simply not performing as they should. Keeping things simple allows your skin to stay balanced, especially in summer.
My routine is very straightforward:
  • Foaming cleanser— to gently remove any overnight buildup without stripping the skin
  • Toner — optional, on the days when I feel that the skin needs it
  • Vitamin C— for protection, brightness, and that healthy glow
  • Sunscreen (SPF 50) — non-negotiable, every single day

That’s it.
It’s enough to keep the skin clean, protected, and looking fresh—without overcomplicating things.
Morning Routine — Less, but Better
I don’t think this step needs much explanation—it’s essential. A good cleanser sets the tone for everything that follows. It should clean the skin properly without leaving it tight or dry.

From my beauty bag, I rotate between a few favorites:
  • La Mer Cleansing Foam — my go-to luxury cleanser. It creates a soft, dense foam that cleans thoroughly while leaving the skin smooth and comfortable.
  • Round Lab Birch Cleanser — lighter, more hydrating, and perfect for everyday use. It leaves the skin feeling fresh with that subtle “glass skin” effect.
  • Innisfree Green Tea Amino Hydrating Cleansing Foam — a great option for summer. Slightly more purifying, but still gentle, and helps balance oil without drying the skin.
01. Cleanse
This is a step I used to underestimate, but over time, I’ve learned to use it more intuitively.
In winter, toner helps my skin stay hydrated and allows creams to absorb better. In summer, I use it more selectively—only when I feel my skin needs that extra layer of hydration. Sometimes, it even replaces moisturizer under SPF when I want to keep things very light.

My current favorites include:
  • La Mer Essential Tonic — a refined, soothing toner that adds a layer of hydration while calming the skin. I’m obsessed with the texture and how hydrated my skin feels after using it. It feels slightly nourishing without being heavy and works beautifully under the rest of the routine.
  • Beauty of Joseon Ginseng Essence Water — lightweight but effective. It hydrates, smooths the skin, and gives that subtle glow that makes your skin look more even and fresh. Perfect for warmer months, and I love the scent of this product.
02. Tone & Prep
Vitamin C. This is one of the most important steps in my morning routine—it protects the skin while giving it that healthy, natural brightness.
→ antioxidant protection
→ boosts glow and evens out skin tone

From me to you:
  • Dr. G VITAceutical 15% Vitamin C— I’ve seen great results with this product. If you’re just starting with vitamin C, it might be a bit strong, so consider your skin sensitivity before trying it.
  • CeraVe Vitamin C Serum — a great entry-level option if you don’t want to break the bank. I’ve been using it for the past two months and love how it sits on my skin. It has a very light texture and gives a natural glow. The packaging is also great, as it protects the product from light and air.
  • SkinCeuticals Vitamin C Serum — a cult favorite. I haven’t tried it yet, but I’ve been recomended it so often, I lost count. So, if you are like me, and thinking to invest into Vit C product, I believe it should be this one. This product is backed my science and dermatologists often highlight its formulation—a combination of vitamin C, vitamin E, and ferulic acid—which enhances its effectiveness.
03. Protect & Brighten
Sunscreen (SPF 50)
This is completely non-negotiable for me. No matter the weather, no matter the season—SPF is always the final step.

Evening Routine — Where Skin Does the Work
I tend to keep exfoliations and masks for the evening—and there’s a reason for that.
At night, your skin shifts into repair mode. It’s no longer exposed to sunlight, pollution, or environmental stress, which makes it the ideal time to use more active or intensive products.

It’s less about doing more and rather about giving your skin the right conditions to actually benefit from what you’re applying.
In the evening, my routine becomes slightly more intentional—but still not complicated.

I always start with a foaming cleanser to properly remove SPF, makeup, and everything that has built up throughout the day. I usually use one of the cleansers from my morning routine.
From there, I keep things flexible. Instead of layering everything at once, I rotate depending on what my skin needs:
  • a pore-cleansing mask, when I feel congestion
  • a light exfoliation, to maintain smooth texture
  • or a sheet mask, when my skin feels dehydrated

On some days, I skip this step entirely to let my skin rest and maintain its natural balance.

When I do use treatments, these are my go-to products:
  • Ahava Purifying Mud Mask — perfect when I want a quick, effective deep cleanse. It only needs a few minutes and leaves the skin noticeably smoother. When rinsing, it has a slight exfoliating effect that makes the skin feel polished but still soft.
  • Vvbetter Mud Mask — one of those products where you actually see a difference the next day. My skin always looks clearer and more refined after using it.
  • Apivita Express Beauty Masks & Scrubs — I’ve been using these consistently for the past 8 months, and they’ve become a staple.
Pink Clay → gentle cleansing
Olive Scrub → soft exfoliation
Just be careful not to over-exfoliate—too much can lead to sensitivity and irritation.

Sheet masks (hydration & calming), I use these when my skin needs a reset:

Apivita Express Beauty wash-off masks, depending on what my skin needs:
Radiance → brightening
Sea Lavender → hydration & anti-pollution
Prickly Pear → soothing & moisturizing

I keep the final step simple.

Toner is optional in the evening—I use it only when I feel my skin needs it. Then comes cream.

This step is essential. It seals everything in and supports overnight recovery. In summer, I prefer lighter textures to avoid overloading the skin or clogging pores.
